Sun Print Workshop w/ Candiché
Sunday, February 16, 2020
In this amazing cyanotype workshop you'll be making three pieces with Candiché: greeting cards, wall art, and a tote bag.
Cyanotypes are created using a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print. Similar to the process used by engineers to make blueprints, the printing method is simple, elegant, and almost magic (camera-less, no ink involved). Two chemicals are combined and applied to paper or fabric, and once exposed to direct sunlight, result in a blue indigo. “I create a ‘study of nature’ using leaves as stencils to block the sun from hitting the exposed material, creating a one-of-a-kind print.”
The workshop will start with Candiché explaining the process. You'll then put chemical on the substrate, expose it to the sun, and finally wash chemical off to reveal your beautiful products!
